The 2IMINEDproject (2016-1-LT01-KA204-023223), Improving the Initial Education of Adult Immigrants, a KA2 Strategic Partnership in the field of Adult Education, meets immigrants’ and their educators’ needs for a successful integration into the host country.

The project aimsto:
-raise awareness about immigrants’ educators and immigrants’ needs;
-improve immigrants’ basic knowledge and understanding of the host country's sociocultural live;
-help to improve educators’ competences;
-change the public and media’s opinion about immigrants;
-influence migration policy in European countries;
-help immigrants’ inclusion in society;
-increase the immigrant employment rate;
-increase the quality of immigrants' living and working conditions in the partner countries
-reduce racial, cultural conflicts and discrimination attacks.
The partnership is made up of a wide range of educational institutions and organisations with long experience in adult education and immigrant issues from six countries with different patterns of immigration (Klaipedos University, and Social-educational initiatives centre PLUS, Vilnius, Lithuania; Pixel Associazione, Italy; CVO Kisp Gent (centre for adult education), Belgium; Liepajas University, Latvia; Shelter "Safe House", Riga, Latvia; Stefan cel Mare University Suceava, Romania; EuroEd Foundation, Iasi, Romania and Foundation for development of cultural and business potential of civil society, Sofia, Bulgaria).
The target groupsof the project are immigrants (both for the third countries and EU) and their educators, who will facilitate and guide their integration.
Outputs
The project creates innovative digital technology-based educational tools which will help immigrantsacquire basic knowledge and understanding about the host country’s sociocultural life and facilitate their integration into the host country. The content of the online materials (The core integration model) addressing immigrants is based on the findings of the research and attempts to meet immigrants’ needs as they were identified by the survey: basic important information about the host country in terms of its history, language survival kit, political system, religion, education, nationalities, geography, arts, main holidays or employment organizations, health care and security (rights and obligations).
